I had the same problem on my 88 Alfa Romeo Spider when I had to

change my water pump. I had to remove the crank pulley.

It required a 1 1/2 in socket and I put it on an electric impact wrench

but it didn't move it.

My son who was a past auto mechanic brought his 2 foot long breaker bar
and put it on the bolt and braced it and told me to just do a quick crank
on the starter and it broke loose.

Good Luck!!!

Hit the bottom or handle of the rachet with a hammer. A quick

turn will start it to loosen.
